June 2020 Release Notes: Configurable Homepage, Custom Terms of Service, Onboarding

Introducing Configurable Homepage Button

Promote open course calendars, communities of practice, or a new open course

Administrators can now configure a new button to appear on a members' homepage that can link to any URL. This is a great way to promote open course calendars that exist inside or outside of CorpU or promote a new community of practice where all members can participate.

Follow these steps to enable the configurable button:

  • Navigate to Admin Tools > Site Settings > User Home
  • Click the Enable Configurable Button checkbox
  • Enter the Block Title, URL, Intro Text, and Button Text to configure your new homepage button:

Add Custom Terms of Service

Require members to agree to the Terms of Service in order to use CorpU

Administrators can now configure the Terms of Service for their site and require that all members view and agree to the terms of service before accessing CorpU.

Follow these steps to configure your custom Terms of Service:

  • Navigate to Admin Tools > Site Settings > Terms of Service
  • Enter your custom Terms of Service into the text box
  • Click the Save button

  • After saving, you and all members of the site will be prompted to accept the updated terms of service

You can audit who has accepted the Terms of Service by following these steps:

  • Navigate to Admin Tools > Site Settings > Members
  • Click the Export All Users button

  • Save and open the member_export.csv file

  • This export will contain a new accepted_tos_date column that will contain the date and time when a member accepted the Terms of Service. If this field is empty, a member has not accepted the Terms of Service.

Welcome Email to New Members

Require members to agree to the Terms of Service in order to use CorpU

New members added to CorpU will now be greeted with a new welcome email that will ask to confirm their email address and set a password to activate their new account.

After a member clicks the Confirm & Get Started button, they will be navigated to CorpU to set a password and activate their account.

Important Notes:

  1. The new welcome email will be sent immediately when a new member is added to CorpU. This includes adding new members through Site Admin or importing new members through manual or automated batch loads.
  2. The password field has been removed from the Site Admin member profile page and from the list of available columns to import via CSV user batch loads. This field is no longer required since the new automated welcome email will guide a new member to set a password and activate their new account.

Onboard New Members to CorpU

New members are guided to set up their new account

New members added to CorpU will now be guided through a new onboarding process to set their desired language, timezone preference, and agree to accept the Terms of Service if enabled by an administrator.
